Moises Rodriguez, a 20-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Sunday, Aug. 17, in the 500 block of Witmer Street in Westlake, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Rodriguez had just walked out of his apartment building about 1:30 a.m. and was going to meet two female friends parked nearby to go to Jack in the Box when a black car pulled up and a person inside shot at him, said LAPD Det. John Motto.
Rodriguez was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 3:40 a.m., said Ed Winter, the assistant chief at the coroner’s office.
The two female friends were not injured, Motto said.
