Rafeal Hughes, a 39-year-old black man, was found dead Tuesday, Sept. 6, near 6th Street and Gladys Avenue in Downtown, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Hughes' body was discovered about 4:30 a.m., said Ed Winter, spokesman for the coroner's office. Authorities were called and Hughes was pronounced dead at the scene.
Coroner's records show Hughes suffered blunt head trauma. His death was deemed a homicide.
Winter had no other information about the case.
